Acne Treatment – Say Goodbye to Acne with the Right Steps

By Arnold Cole

I say – Don’t believe them. Don’t believe all these rude people who will do everything to take your money. Don’t believe these crooks who will sell you “magic acne treatments”. Acne is a disease and as such should be treated carefully and thoroughly.

Did you know that more people suffer from acne scars than from acne? Former acne sufferers who have purchased “magical acne treatments” have caused themselves long term skin defects – acne marks, acne scars etc.

As a former acne sufferer I urge you to be careful. Acne can be healed easily and quickly, but you must be responsible for yourself. Make a little market research – Look for the best acne treatment that will fit your skin.

The market is full of acne treatments. I personally do not think that for ordinary acne (not a severe acne), one should visit a dermatologist. I recommend trying one of the natural or herbal acne treatments. Those treatments have no side effects what so ever and they are usually low cost. There is a variety of natural acne products in the market – Acnezine is probably the most popular one.

If you see no improvement using natural acne products, you should try one of the other popular acne remedies such as Proactiv, which is probably the most common acne treatment worldwide.

Whatever you do, do not neglect your skin. Believe me, you will regret it later. If you have any kind of acne scars, pimples, zits or blackheads take care of them. Most of the treatments are cheap, painless and most important effective.

Acne Treatment - Combine Benzoyl Peroxide and Adaplene For Quick Treatment

By CD Mohatta

Benzoyl Peroxide is one of the most commonly used acne treatment. Adaplene is a retinoid and comparatively a recent entrant for treatment of spots. It was found in a study that combining both and applying on acne gives much quicker results compared to the results of treatment with a single drug.

Before we discuss more let us find out about these two drugs.

Benzoyl Peroxide-

Benzoyl Peroxide is available in many forms such as soap bars, washing lotions, creams, gels, etc. Benzoyl Peroxide is available as both OTC (over the counter) and by prescription. Benzoyl Peroxide - removes excess oil, unclogs the closed pores, and kills the bacteria. By removing excess oil, Benzoyl Peroxide dries the skin. The drying quality is why some users find it irritating. If you have dry skin, use a moisturizer while using Benzoyl Peroxide. As the excess oil gets removed the possibility of new acne developing reduces. By unclogging the pores Benzoyl Peroxide opens the passage for oil and other matter inside to go out and clears the acne. By killing bacteria P.acnes Benzoyl Peroxide reduces infection and also inflammation.

Adaplene-

Adaplene is a retinoid, and a derivative of Vitamin A. Adaplene is mainly used to treat Acne. Adaplene multiplies the cell turnover of the skin, removes the skin oils, decreases inflammation and speeds up the healing of acne. It not only treats acne but also helps prevent new acne from forming.

Adaplene - Care While Using

Adaplene is available in liquid, gel or cream and should be applied to acne prone skin and acne affected skin. In the beginning you may find that your acne is getting worse. Keep using Adaplene and slowly the acne will clear. It takes about two to three months for acne to clear with Adaplene usage.

Adaplene should not be applied to skin affected with eczema. If your skin is sun burnt, broken or cut, do not use Adaplene until the skin heals. If you are using any other skincare product, inform your doctor. Many skin care products may irritate the skin if they are used along with Adaplene. For example, products that contain Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Sulphur, Salicylic Acid, Resorcinol and Alcohol should to be avoided if you are using Adaplene. You should also look at the label of the cosmetics you use as they may contain an ingredient that may cause irritation if used with Adaplene.

Combination- Ask your doctor if you should combine both and use to treat acne. If a combination is not available you can buy both the products and use them one after another on the skin and mix properly. You will get results much quicker and will be free of Acne soon.

Acne Treatment - Oral Treatment Of Acne Nodules

By CD Mohatta

Acne Vulgaris can be divided in various types or stages. The beginning is with whiteheads and blackheads. Pimples are the second stage and the third stage is the severe form of acne- Cysts and nodules. The treatment of all three types is different. Out of these treatment of nodules is biggest challenge. Nodules are large acne lesions highly inflamed and reach deep inside the skin. Nodules can be very painful. Let us know more about how to treat acne nodules with oral treatment.

Acne treatment- more about cysts and nodules

In the third stage of Acne Vulgaris large infected and inflamed lesions form. They are called cysts and nodules. They invariably cause acne scars and may also be very painful. A nodule is a solid dome-shaped inflamed lesion. Nodules are much bigger than papules and may be very painful. Nodules reach deeper in the skin cells and cause scars. Nodules should not be treated with OTC medication. If you have the third stage of acne with large nodules and cysts, you should consult a doctor about the treatment.

In severe acne what you see as large acne spots full of pus are called cysts. A cyst is a severe form of pustule that is filled with bacteria, white blood cells and dead skin. Cysts can be very painful and extend inside the skin damaging the skin tissue. Cysts invariably cause a scar. For treating cystic acne, doctors commonly drain the cysts and then treat them.

Acne treatment- how to treat nodules

Out of the different options available for acne treatment- physical, oral and topical treatments, oral treatments are best to treat nodules. Nodules are large acne that is inflamed, reaches deep in the skin and is very painful. Most of the common topical treatments such as Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid etc. take a long time to treat nodules. It is preferred to use oral medication to treat this acne to treat it quickly.

Isotretinoin is one of the most potent treatments for severe form of acne. Isotretinoin is a retinoid, a compound of vitamin A. Isotretinoin helps treat all the causes of acne. The normal course of isotretinoin is one or two pills a day for up to twenty weeks. Your dermatologist will decide the dose. Don't take Isotretinoin without medical supervision. The common side effects of isotretinoin may include joint pains, headaches, nausea, and depression. For women, it is very important to be in regular contact with their doctor because isotretinoin can cause damage to development of fetus. It is not prescribed during pregnancy. Before the treatment begins, all possibilities of pregnancy have to be eliminated. Talk to your doctor in detail about this and follow his/her instructions very strictly. Women must not miss their appointment with doctor while taking isotretinoin.

Antibiotics - In case of severe acne oral antibiotics are preferred as they produce quicker results. Broad-spectrum antibiotics reduce the bacteria P.acnes substantially. With reduction in the population of this bacterium, inflammation reduces. Antibiotics that are commonly prescribed include - tetracycline, erythromycin, doxycycline, etc. Excessive use of antibiotics can cause resistance to the antibiotic and gastro intestinal problems.

Oral contraceptives for female patients:

Hormones are responsible for overactive sebaceous glands. These glands produce more sebum and cause acne. In women the hormonal activity can be corrected with oral contraceptives. These drugs should be taken only under medical supervision.

Acne Treatment - What Acne Treatment is Best?

By Craig Lucas

If you are one of the unfortunate few who suffer from severe cases of acne, you will know that there are a lot of acne treatments available in the market today. Almost any case of acne can be cured nowadays – be it a severe case on the face or in the back area. The most important thing to note when trying to get rid of acne and acne lesions, as well as in preventing the development of new ones, is knowing that the treatment of acne takes time. You should also keep in mind that not all acne treatments work the same way on everybody – what works on one person may not work on you. And, you should also be open to the possibility that you may require the help of a dermatologist to treat your acne.

A lot of manufacturers develop and sell acne treatments, and with the numerous types and kinds available, you may find it difficult to choose one that works for you. In choosing, remember that no “fast” or “overnight” solutions work. Acne treatment does not work overnight! It generally takes between six to eight weeks to see just the initial results of acne treatment. Once significant and positive results are seen, treatment will need to be continued to prevent acne from appearing again. If no positive results are observed by the end of eight weeks, you may need to switch to another treatment method.

Acne treatments come in various types – topical drugs or oral medication. These treatments typically consist of elements that reduce sebum production, remove dead skin cells, and kill bacteria. The type of treatment depends on the case of acne – whether mild, moderate, or severe.

When choosing, you should also try not to simply follow the trend and go along with what other people are using. Remember, acne treatments provide varied results for different individuals. Treatments that may work on your friends may not work on your acne. There are factors that affect the effectively of these treatments and some of these factors are the cause of the acne, your skin type, and the kind of acne lesions that have developed.

Some of the more popular acne treatments available in the market are the ClearPores Skin Cleansing System, Acnezine, Vilantae, and Acnease. While these treatments have been proven to be effective, they also cause side effects such as stomach irritation, headaches, and diarrhea.

Aside from the topical and oral medications available over the counter or through prescriptions, there are alternatives to treating acne. Most of the optional treatments for acne involve taking better care of yourself by cleaning the skin properly, eating a well-balanced diet, avoiding alcohol and dairy products, avoiding caffeine, sugar, and tobacco.

Acne Treatment - Homemade Acne Treatment Options

By Alan Jensen

Acne is an inflammatory skin disorder that affects nearly 80 percent of Americans between the ages of twelve and twenty-four. Many people find over-the-counter and prescription acne treatments to be too harsh; or they may experience unwanted side effects. There are several home treatments for acne including dietary and herbal supplements, essential oils and homemade remedies.

Certain essential oils have shown to be beneficial in the treatment of acne. Many people believe that essential oils should be avoided because they add additional oil to the skin. This is false. When treating acne with essential oils, you will want to use therapeutic grade oils. Instead of leaving an oily residue, therapeutic oils will dissipate when exposed to air and leave the skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated. The best essential oils for acne treatment include: Tea Tree, Lavender, Rosewood, Bergamot and Rosewood. Essential oils need to be mixed with a carrier oil such as Jojoba, Sesame or Grapeseed.

Tea tree oil is a natural antibiotic and antiseptic. Dab full-strength tea tree oil on blemishes three times a day. If the full strength oil is too strong for your liking, combine 10 to 15 drops of oil with 1/4-cup warm water and pat on infected area with a cotton ball. Tea tree oil soap is another option.

The leaves of lavender, red clover, and strawberry plants can be used as a steam sauna for the face. Lavender is a natural germicide and stimulates cell growth. Simply add 2 to 4 tablespoons of dried or fresh herbs in two quarts of water and heat until water is steaming. Remove the pot from the burner, place on a potholder on a table, and sit with your face at a comfortable distance from the steam for fifteen minutes. If acne is severe or badly inflamed, do not use steam treatments, as this may worsen the condition.

Another popular acne treatment is to apply an oatmeal mask once or twice a week. Cook oatmeal as you normally would, allow it to cool a bit and while it is still warm, apply it to your entire face. Allow the oatmeal to dry, than rinse with warm water. Additionally, uncooked oatmeal can be used to exfoliate skin. Add a small amount of warm water to dampen the oatmeal and use as a facial scrub.

One home treatment for acne involves making dietary changes. People with acne usually benefit by eating a diet that is high in fiber and includes foods that are rich in zinc. Zinc-rich foods include shellfish, soybeans, whole grains, sunflower seeds and nuts. Foods that seem to worsen symptoms include anything processed, most meat (especially red meat), sugar, flour, wheat, caffeine, and alcohol.

Adding dietary and herbal supplements can be an effective acne treatment. Recommended dietary supplements include essential fatty acids, B vitamins, vitamins A, E, C, and D, acidophilus, chlorophyll, selenium, digestive enzymes, and lecithin.

Beneficial herbs used for home treatment of acne include burdock root and red clover, which are powerful blood cleansers; and milk thistle which aids the liver in cleansing blood. A poultice using chaparral, dandelion, and yellow dock root can be applied directly to the areas of skin with acne. Chaparral should never be taken internally and is intended for external use only. Other useful herbs include alfalfa, cayenne and Echinacea.

Many people find that aloe vera is an effective home treatment for acne. Aloe vera juice can be consumed internally and helps heal the digestive tract. Generally, 1 to 2 ounces per day is effective. Aloe vera gel can be applied directly to acne lesions and may alleviate inflammation and pain.

Witch hazel has been used for many years as a home treatment for acne. Some find cleaning the face with egg whites helps to soothe acne pain and inflammation. Others find apple cider vinegar soothing to acne lesions and some claim it helps to reduce scarring.

Last, but not least, a little known home treatment for acne involves the use of a cucumber. Just peel the cucumber and blend in a blender or food processor until liquefied; then apply to the area affected with acne.

Alan Jensen is recognized as a leading expert on herbal acne products for fast and safe acne treatment. He is a frequent contributor to Acne Treatment. He enjoys spending free time with his family and 3 year old German Shepherd.

Acne Treatment - The Systematic Treatment Of Acne

By Craig Lucas

Acne treatments generate billions of dollars every year. People flit from treatment to treatment in search of something, anything, that might work. Most people affected are aged between 12 and 25. The most common areas affected by body acne are the neck, shoulders, and back. Science and medical research have done a lot of studies and established a number of theories on what the real causes are. The real and main causes are hormone imbalance, water retention and toxins. But still its not impossible to get rid of acne.

Most herbal remedies for acne are completely safe and effective for various skin types. The common antibiotics for acne treatment are minocycline, doxycycline and tetracycline. The psychological aspects are often down played, and the condition is considered "merely cosmetic" and not a true disease. The classic symptoms are the result of an overproduction of sebum by the sebaceous glands, which often starts around the time of puberty.

Please remember that no treatment will completely cure your acne. The main aim of the acne treatment is to prevent new spots appearing on the skin. However, advances in laser treatment have made it possible to remove scars and now is being used for this worldwide. We know more today than ever before about the treatment of acne. Remember that it can take 3-6 weeks to see any improvement after beginning treatment.

Everybody's skin is different and the causes of acne are different, so naturally the treatments also must be different. Adults are also less likely than teens to seek treatment for their acne, leaving them to suffer alone. Whether natural or medical methods of controlling acne are better will depend on your particular situation. All but the most severe grades are controllable although not curable. Vitamin A for relief, niacin amide and zinc are clinically proven to be best effective vitamins for acne. The key to approaching this is an understanding that the outward vestiges of acne are manifestations of internal imbalance.

Isotretinoin, or Accutane, is a prescription medication that has be widely used to cure several different types of acne. It is derived from retinoid, which has been label a miracle cure; it is even able to heal the most aggressive forms. Efficiency studies to determine the effectiveness of Accutane acne treatment. Results are usually seen between 15 to 20 weeks, and taken one to two times a day, and the drug must be taken for a prolonged period of time to see result with Accutane.

The benefits of Accutane deserve some attention as well. It is considered a very effective treatment that regulates the sebaceous glands and tells them to produce less oil and sebum. Not only is Accutane such an effective treatment that it completely cures acne, but it has successfully been used for healing acne and preventing the appearance of scars. Accutane has been used successfully to treat other chronic skin ailments. Consultation with a medical doctor should precede using Accutane for any skin conditions. It should be medically determined if that is the best medical treatment available for any patient.

Acne Treatment- Including Acne Medicine, Your Acne Solution

By Joseph Martineau

Acne is an inflammatory skin disease which affects the tiny pores and the oily gland attached to them. It affects the face, arms, back and chest.

Treatment of adult acne

- Start off using a mild treatment, such as a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide solution.
- If you have combination skin, you may want to use a stronger product on your oily areas and a milder one on areas of your skin that tend to be drier.
- Don’t put benzoyl peroxide around your eyes as this will cause the area to become dry and will accentuate wrinkles.

and

Adult acne is a little different from the acne found in teenagers because it is not caused by hormonal changes during puberty. An adult’s skin has changed and may be more sensitive or drier then a teenager’s. Often adult women will have combination skin that is dry around the jaw-line and very oily in the upper cheeks and nose. These considerations must be taken into account when treating adult acne.

Teen Acne

It's Not Your Fault

Acne is not caused by eating chocolate, greasy foods or bad hygiene. It is caused by simply growing up — puberty and pimples seem to go hand in hand.

People of every ethnic background, nationality, size and shape will probably experience acne during their teen years. During puberty, your body starts producing hormones called androgens that contribute to acne. This is a natural part of human development and, consequently, there is nothing to be done about it. Unfortunately, boys are probably going to have more severe breakouts than girls. This reverses when girls are in their 20s, 30s and 40s, when female acne is more common than that of males. Acne is a problem for teenagers and adults ranging from ages 18-40. Acne can appear as any of the following: congested pores, whiteheads, blackheads, pimples, pustules, rosacea or cysts (deep pimples).

Blemishes and breakouts occur where oil glands, mainly on the face, back and face appear. You can do a lot to control your acne using the best acne product for you.

What causes acne?

There are many factors that cause acne. Acne occurs when oily glands come to boy and girls around puberty stimulated by their hormones. Oil naturally lubricates the skin causing a skin protection, under certain circumstances cells that are close to the surface block sebaceous gland openings causing buildup of oil underneath. Bacteria is stimulated from this oil living in everyone's skin generally causing no problem unless it multiplies and causes surrounding tissues to become inflamed.

Once the inflammation is near the surface, a pustule appears; any deeper, and a papule or pimple; even deeper still and it is called a cyst. When the oil breaks through the surface a "whitehead" is formed. The oil becomes oxidized and the oil changes form white to black, resulting in a "blackhead." When facial pores are clogged the acne problem get worse.

Acne Myths?

Fact or Fiction? Is acne inherited by family? Most people do not have the problem of acne as their parents did. Almost everyone in their life has had acne. Acne comes and goes with time.

Fact or Fiction? Does food have a role in rosecea? Food is not a culprit simply because teens, adults love to eat fried foods, greasy and junk food. Eating these types of foods may not be good for your health but it does not act as a culprit for acne.

Fact or Fiction? What about dirt? Some individuals have more "oily" skin than others (as mentioned "Blackheads" are oxidized oil, not dirt). Ultimately dirt is proportional to acne, therefore, the more oily skin you have the more acne you will have.

Fact or Fiction? Does sweat cause acne to breakout? Sweat does not cause acne, therefore, it is not necessary to shower instantly after exercise for fear that sweat will clog pores. On the other hand, excessive washing can dry and irritate the skin leading to more acne.

Fact or Fiction? Does stress play a role in pimples? Some people pick and harass pimples and make them last longer, however, this has nothing to do with causing acne.

Fact or Fiction? Do hormones cause acne? Most women and men don't breakout in a viscous cycle. It is very unlikely that hormones play a role in causing acne.

Fact or Fiction? Do cosmetics have any role in acne? Most skin care products are not pore-clogging. Of the several brands, the "oil-free" are generally a better choice.

When should you start to treat acne?

Everyone will experience acne at some point and therefore no correct time to treat acne. When you think the acne problem is out of control, treat it! This occurs mostly when severe acne flares suddenly, mild acne that just won't go away, or even when a single pimple decides to show up. The decision to actively treat acne is yours.

Reduce the oil

Use a gentle astringent/toner to wipe away oil. (There are many brands available in pharmacies, as well as from manufacturers of cosmetic lines.) Products containing glycolic acid or one of the other alpha-hydroxyl acids are also mildly helpful in clearing the skin by causing the superficial layer of the skin to peel (exfoliate). Masques containing sulfur and other ingredients draw out facial oil. Antibacterial pads containing benzoyl peroxide have the additional benefit of helping you wipe away oil.

Acne Treatment - Myths Regarding Acne And What Causes Acne?

By Joey River

There are several misunderstandings regarding acne. This is the reason people end up taking wrong acne treatment for themselves. Therefore it is necessary that you know the causes of acne so that you can direct acne treatment into correct direction, instead of wasting time on seemingly less effective medications.

Acne treatment for adolescents and teenagers are different from adults. Since the hormonal activity in both the age groups is different. It is better that you take any oral medication as acne treatment only after you consult the dermatologist. Since, a well experienced dermatologist is required in order to prescribe exact medicine for your body type.

Acne treatment should be started early on the moment you know that you have acne. You can start acne treatment by using cleansers and exfoliation. Cleaners will do the work of removing all that oil which is logged on your pores and because of which these are blocked. Where exfoliation will help remove all that oil which could not be removed by cleansers, as well as will keep the skin pores clear for the skin to breathe.

Acne results into formation of blackheads, whiteheads and comedones. Acne is not formed due to dirt, as is the normal belief. It is caused due to over secretion of oil sebum by the sebaceous glands in the hair follicle. The purpose of sebum is to take dead cells and throw it out of the body.

The hormone androgen, one of the most important hormones for healthy functioning of our body causes acne. The hormone when comes into contact with the sebaceous gland produces sebum, but in case of people who get acne, the sebaceous glands are sensitive and produce more sebum, thus creating acne and related skin problems.

So acne treatment in early stages should revolve round keeping the skin cleansed and hydrated. Drinking lot of water is a must, since water cleans your body from the inside, and cleansing skin by mild cleansers and exfoliating it will do the trick.

For most of the people with mild acne this will do the trick. Also exercising will make you sweat and thus will also keep pores clean, these are some on the non-medicinal treatments. Acne treatment through medicinal cream, etc is possible too, you should use those creams which contain benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid in their composition. The function of these creams is to kill bacterial present in the infected areas.

Acne treatment should be only in places where your skin is affected, using creams and medicines in areas other than affected areas will only make the normal skin dryer.

There are different types of medicines available as acne treatment, including medicines prescribed in ayurveda, homeopathic and allopathic. You require investigating properly into each type if you are open to trying something really effective and long lasting.

Therefore, treat acne wisely and be patient, you will get to see the results soon enough. Acne treatment will be effective if you are regular in following instruction, if you are consulting a dermatologist, then it is all the more necessary that you follow instructions thoroughly for best results.

Acne Treatments - Antibiotics for Acne, Acne Scar Removal, Acne Laser Treatment, How To Treat Acne

By Dr. Kenneth Franks

It's quite simple, acne treatments work by reducing the amount of oil production in your body, increasing the speed of your skin cell turnover, battling against bacteria and infection and in most cases doing all three. With all most all of prescription medication acne treatments, it is quite common for you not to see any results for nearly four to eight weeks, also your skin may get a lot worse before you see any results. If you are pregnant you should also confirm with your doctor that any oral medications you take will not harm your child.

If you want to know how to treat acne then here are some quite common doctor and dermatologist recommended acne treatments:

Topical treatments are acne lotions that are known to dry up the oil and slow production, kill bacteria and at the same time help promote sloughing of dead skin cells. Over the counter lotions are known to be generally quite mild and contain sulfur, benzoyl peroxide, resorcinol, salicylic acid or lactic acid as their main active ingredients. Some of these type of products can be helpful for mild acne. If your acne does not respond to these types of treatments, then you may want to contact your doctor or a dermatologist to for possible solutions or treatment.

Antibiotics are great for such cases of moderation or severe acne, a prescription oral antibiotic is great for reducing bacteria and fighting inflammation. Your dermatologist may recommend that you take these antibiotics for months, and you also have to use them with a combination of other topical products and treatments. Contact your doctor or dermatologist for recommendations on acne treatments.

Isotretinoin are for deep cysts because sometimes antibiotics just are not enough. Isotretinoin (Accutane) is one of the most powerful medications available for the scarring cystic acne and acne very severe cases of acne that have not responded well to other acne treatments. This medicine is very effective and increases chances of "curing acne", but the patients who take this medicine need close monitoring by a dermatologist because of the high risk of sever side effects the medicine has. Research has shown Isotretinoin is has been known to cause severe birth defects, so pregnant women should not take at all no matter what the situation. In fact, the drug has such a high risk for serious potential side effects that women of reproductive age have to participate in an FDA-approved monitoring program to receive a prescription for the drug. Also, isotretinoin has been known to possibly increase a persons levels of triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood and may also increase liver enzyme levels. Although in most cases most patients return to normal when they have stopped taking the medication.

Oral contraceptives up to and including combinations of norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol (Ortho-Cyclen, Ortho Tri-Cyclen), that research has show that they improve acne in women. Although like with any medication you should contact your doctor about possible side effects.

Some doctors may have success with cosmetic surgery to decrease and diminish scars left by acne. Doctors procedures include the peeling away dead or damaged skin with chemicals or by freezing the dead skin or dermabrasion. Dermabrasion is an intense light therapy and laser resurfacing procedure. Peeling procedures are successful at eliminating superficial scars on the skin tissue. Dermabrasion, which is usually for severe scarring of the skins tissue and also involves removing the skins top layers with a rapidly rotating wire brush. Laser resurfacing is using intense light and very short pulses to remove succeed at removing the outer layer of your skin tissue. If you have problems with skin that forms scar tissue, then dermabrasion can make your complexion worse.

So I suggest that you contact your doctor or dermatologist if you have any questions about receiving the right acne treatment.

Dr. Kenneth Franks has been recommending the best Adult Acne skin care products for years. He takes his business serious and loves to help people Get Rid of Acne with the right Acne Treatments you can fight the zits and pimples and get rid of your acne today.

Acne Treatment - Each Type Of Acne Needs Different Treatment!

By Joey River

Each of us wishes to have a smooth and clear skin. Pimples and Acne destroy this dream of smooth and clear skin. However, we start searching of remedies once we think things have gone out of hand.

Acne formation can take place on any part of the body, but the most affected parts are chest, back and unfortunately face. You should start treating acne consciously instead of starting use of over the counter products, of whose chemical composition you have no knowledge about. This is reason you should gain all those things you require to know about acne before you start treating it.

Acne should be treated as a health problem and not merely a skin problem. Acne appears in teenagers and adults as well. There are different types of acne and so there are equally different types of acne treatments.

Each one of us has a different condition; some people might have mild and moderate acne. Mild acne can also be referred to as non-inflammatory acne. This type of acne includes formation of white heads and black heads on skin, mild acne can be easily treated and removed from your daily life. For acne treatment of mild acne, all you require doing is washing your face with warm water and soap at least twice a day. Using exfoliating soap would be the best. Acne treatment for you would be using cleansers to cleanse your skin so that the pores do not get blocked and skin can breathe easy.

Moderate acne is the one which covers half of your face. Acne treatment for moderate acne can be done at home; however, it is also advisable that you take suggestions of the dermatologist so that he can stop the moderate acne changing to severe acne. Acne treatment can be a combination of treatments for moderate acne. At this stage you can prevent acne becoming severe inflammatory acne.

The doctor might advice you acne treatment in two ways, by making sure that your skin is clean and there are no blocked pores. This acne treatment involves extraction of the blockages and such therapies which will dry out or remove the oils that block the pores.

Acne treatment also might include taking some prescription drugs so that the chances of the acne recurring or becoming a severe type of acne diminish.

Severe acne or inflammatory acne means pimples are larger in size and are filled with pus. These can leave scars and are also painful in some cases. Severe acne can leave permanent scars on the skin. Therefore, it is better that you do not allow your acne to reach this level.

Acne treatment for severe acne is long and complicated. Here the dermatologist does not have to only clean you face, you also requires mending it. He might also need you to go through surgery if you want to get rid of acne scars. Initially, acne treatment for severe acne might comprise of taking some oral medicines and cleansing of skin, surgery might come in quite later when acne has been stopped totally and all that is required to be done is mending the skin.

So you can now classify acne if you have any, so that you can take action against it as soon as possible.

Acne Treatment - Acne Treatment Creams Don't Work! Why?

By Sib Ster

Acne treatments can be long-winded and tedious, we all know that.

There are dozens of methods that claim to cure acne, but there are only a few that actually work. Most creams and potions such as benzoyl peroxide or proactiv only cover up the symptoms. Once you stop using them, the spots and blemishes reappear.

I know there are hundreds of questions whizzing around your head about acne and its treatments, but let me ask you this: Why do you think 95% of acne treatments are ineffective?

I'll answer that in 3 words.
Everybody... Is... Different...
Yes. The hormonal and biological make-up of every individual is unique. Thats what gives us our unique appearence, its what makes us unique. So, there is going to be some variance in results to different conditions.

Acne is caused when there is a sharp increase in the male sex hormone Androgen. This spike in hormone production usually occurs during puberty, which explains why acne is most common in teenagers. But we all know that, right?

If the genetic make-up of everyone is different, we can't expect a universal acne treatment, can we? Although there are many different creams/potions on the market today, not every one will cure every case of acne. So, when the scientists created these creams/potions, they designed them to simply 'cover up' the symptoms, to reduce the swelling of pimples and blemishes.

Not only are there many different creams/ products on the market, there are also many different techniques and lifestyle adjustments that claim to cure acne. Things like avoiding fatty/sugary foods, or eating more foods that are high in zinc and vitamins A and B6. While these may be only small lifestyle changes, they can actually make a difference.

The thing about acne is, your body will ultimately decide when it's had enough. Just as easily and quickly as it bestowed the ghastly condition upon you, it will eventually die down and leave you alone. But if you have been suffering for a few weeks, months or even years, that doesn't sound too good, does it? But before you go plastering yourself with all those chemicals and products, take a step back, and ask yourself if its really worth rubbing all those chemicals into your skin?

There is a book that explains exactly what causes acne, explains all the different types of acne there is, and points out the best way of treating your condition. If you can identify exactly what is causing your outbreaks, you can target the cause and eliminate the condition. And these results can all be achieved using absoultely no drugs or chemicals at all.

The authors of this book have researched the causes and symptoms of acne for years, and have come up with a system that they have successfully sold in every State in America, and in over fourteen countries worldwide.

If you've tried numerous acne treatments and you still have frustrating outbreaks that hamper your daily lifestyle, check out this incredible book with an open mind - it could be just the answer you've been searching for...
